WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On April 25th, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate-87 Northbound Exit 18 on-ramp at 10:35pm. A 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander occupied by three individuals was stopped for having an unreadable temporary license plate. Upon an investigation a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver and narcotics were located inside the vehicle. Arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree was 34-year-old Michael A. Fonda of Queensbury, 26-year-old Josephine M. Sabo and 30-year-old Nicholas J. Reynolds of Lake George. Reynolds was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. All three suspects were held in police lockup and will be arraigned later this morning.

On April 25th, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Hope M. Hogan, 28, of Glens Falls for welfare fraud. Following an investigation by Warren County Social Services Fraud Investigators and the Sheriff’s Office, it was determined that Hogan had failed to declare income she received from SSI, thus making her eligible for SNAP benefits totaling $2,632.00 that she otherwise wouldn’t have qualified for. Hogan was charged with 4th Degree Welfare Fraud, 4th Degree Grand Larceny, and 1st Degree Offering a False Instrument for Filing, all of which are class E Felonies. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in Queensbury Town Court on May 22nd.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On April 22nd at approximately 5:47pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a Property Damage Auto Accident involving a single vehicle on State Route 9 in the Town of Queensbury. Sharon M. Sauer, 72, of Lake George, operating a 2018 Hyundai sedan, was traveling North on State Route 9 in the area of the Lake George Outlets, when she veered left, crossing the Southbound lane, drove into a shallow ditch, and crashed into a light post before coming to a stop. It appeared that Sauer suffered an unknown medical emergency which is a possible factor in the crash. Sauer was transported to Glens Falls Hospital by West Glens Falls EMS. At this time, speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash.

On April 23rd, a 52-year-old Greenwich woman was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated following a traffic stop. At around midnight, the Sheriff’s Office responded to Quaker Rd in the Town of Queensbury for a report of a vehicle failing to maintain its lane and operating in the opposite lane of travel. A Warren County Sheriff’s Patrol Officer spotted the vehicle, and it was stopped after it was observed committing several traffic violations. After an investigation, the operator, Tammy A. Fuda, was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested. At Sheriff’s Office headquarters, Fuda submitted to an evidentiary breath test which yielded a .17% BAC. She was issued numerous traffic tickets and is set to appear in Queensbury Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On April 10th at 10:40pm The Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a call for a personal injury Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of Dixon Rd and Parkview Rd in the Town of Queensbury. Christie L. Brown, 37, of Glens Falls was operating a 2020 Kia Sportage West Bound on Dixon Rd. Brown went off the north side of the road and struck multiple road signs and a large tree before coming to rest in the driveway of 65 Dixon Rd. Brown was unable to be removed from the vehicle and had to be extricated by Queensbury Central Fire Department. Once extricated, Brown was transported by West Glens Falls Emergency to the West Glens Falls Fire Dept. where she was then transferred to a Life Net Helicopter who then transported her to Albany Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

On April 16th, at 10:58pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of West Mountain Rd and Hillside Dr in Queensbury for a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign and crossing over the double yellow lines. The operator and passengers of the vehicle were identified as Thomas L. Clum, 48, of Queensbury, Pamelyn T. Demar, 47, of Queensbury, Daniel J. Santana, 36, of South Glens Falls, and Chantelle C. Joubert, 31, of Corinth. Upon a police investigation after seeing drug paraphernalia in plain view, a large quantity of cocaine was located along with Xanax pills and other drug paraphernalia with drug residue within. Santana and Joubert were taken into custody and charged with 1 count of 5th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony, along with, 1 misdemeanor count of 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Demar was charged with 2 counts of 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Clum was charged with 1 count of 7th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, and received traffic citations for 2nd Degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and failing to obey a traffic control device. Santana and Joubert were held in police lock-up and were arraigned on April 17th at Warren County CAP Court. Demar and Clum were released with appearance tickets and are due back in Queensbury Town Court on a later date.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Friday April 7, at approximately 11am, members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 891 State Route 9 in the Town of Queensbury for the report of a hit and run motor vehicle crash. Following a police investigation, it was determined that Patrick R. Holcomb, 36, of Queensbury, was driving while intoxicated. Holcomb later submitted to a chemical test which yielded a BAC of .10 of 1%. Holcomb was charged with the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated and issued several traffic tickets. Holcomb was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at Queensbury Town Court at a later date.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Monday, March 27, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alfred T. Allen, 52, of Queensbury for selling crack cocaine. During a narcotics investigation conducted by the Warren County Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Allen sold crack cocaine to the police on multiple occasions during a controlled drug buy operation. Allen was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B felonies. He was taken to Queensbury Court for arraignment and later remanded back to the custody of the Warren County Correctional Facility where he was already incarcerated on an unrelated matter.

On Thursday, March 30, A 52-year-old Vermont man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated following a traffic stop. William O. Snell, of New Haven, VT was stopped by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at around 10:35PM after he was observed committing unspecified traffic offenses on South St. in the City of Glens Falls. Snell was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested. At Sheriff’s Office headquarters, Snell refused to submit to an evidentiary breath test. He was placed in Sheriff’s Office lock up and was arraigned on a DWI charge as well as numerous traffic tickets the following morning.

On Sunday, April 2, a Warren County Sheriff’s Patrol Officer witnessed a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette on Luzerne Rd in the Town of Queensbury at a speed of 119 miles per hour. The operator, Joseph E. Millington, 33, of Diamond Point, failed to comply after patrol activated emergency lights and siren. The vehicle continued on West Mountain Rd and eventually crashed on Bonner Dr. Millington and two other passengers–Matthew Harris, 53, of Greenwich and Taylor Ruddy, 22, of Middle Grove–were charged with two misdemeanor counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. Millington was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd degree, Misdemeanor Unlawful Fleeing Police Officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree and multiple vehicle and traffic violations. All subjects were released and will appear in Queensbury Town Court at a later date.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Friday, March 24, 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jerry N. Rogers, 39, of Glens Falls. As part of an investigation, the Narcotics Enforcement Unit made controlled buys of cocaine from Rogers on multiple occasions. Rogers was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the third degree, class B felonies, and held in the Warren County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.

On Saturday, March 25, 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police arrested Amanda L. Comer, 34, of Queensbury on an indictment warrant out of Warren County Court. During a controlled buy operation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit, Comer sold methamphetamine to the police. Comer was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B Felony. Following an arraignment, Comer was remanded to the custody of the Warren County Correctional Facility for lack of $15,000 cash / $30,000 secured bond / $60,000 insured bond.

U-Drive, U-Text, U-Pay

This week, The Warren County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the U-Drive, U-Text, U-Pay traffic safety initiative. In association with the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, the Sheriff’s Office will be working to reduce the number of property damage and personal injury motor vehicle crashes caused by distracted driving.

The Sheriff’s Office will be sending out dedicated high visibility traffic patrols Monday, April 3rd through Monday, April 10th focusing on the education and enforcement of distracted driving.

Distracted driving has become one of the leading contributing factors among motor vehicle crashes. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2019 alone, 3,142 people were killed and an estimated 424,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers.
