WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

A 22-year-old Queensbury man faces Driving While Intoxicated charges following a roll-over crash in the Town of Queensbury. On Monday March 6th, at around 8:06pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to Luzerne Rd in the area of Laurel Ln for a report of a vehicle overturned off the side of the road, with the operator reported to have fled the scene. Responding officers located Logan C. Marshall a short distance from the crash and determined he was intoxicated and he was subsequently arrested. At police headquarters, Marshall submitted to a chemical breath test which yielded a .22 of 1% BAC. He was charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI for operating with a BAC greater than .18 of 1% and released to a 3rd party.

A 42-year-old South Glens Falls man was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated after nearly striking a Warren County Sheriff’s Office patrol car. On Tuesday, March 7th, at around 12:03am, a Warren County Sheriff’s Office patrol car was traveling west on Aviation Rd in the Town of Queensbury when a 2018 Jeep operated by Brian B. Rossley, was operating easterly and crossed into the westbound lane, forcing the officer off the side of the road to avoid a collision. A traffic stop was conducted and Rossley was found to be intoxicated and arrested. At police headquarters, Rossley submitted to a chemical breath test which yielded a .26 of 1% BAC, over triple the legal limit. Rossley was charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI for operating with a BAC greater than .18 of 1%. Rossley was released following processing and is due to appear in Queensbury Town Court later this month to answer the charges.

A 32-year-old Glens Falls man was arrested on Felony Driving While Intoxicated charges following a traffic stop on March 10th. Jeffrey E. Mckenna was stopped on Warren Street in the City of Glens Falls at around 10:07 PM after committing unspecified traffic offenses. Mckenna was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested. At Sheriff’s Office headquarters, Mckenna submitted to an evidentiary breath test which yielded a .14 of 1% BAC. Due to a previous DWI conviction within the last 10 years, the charge was upgraded to a Felony. Mckenna was released following processing and is due in Glens Falls City Court later this month to answer the charges.

On March 12th at approximately 12:17am, officers with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding (84mph in a 55mph zone) on State Route 9 in the Town of Warrensburg. After being signaled to stop, the driver accelerated and attempted to evade police. When the vehicle came to a stop, the driver was apprehended. The driver was identified as Ryan C. Barrett, 26, of Warrensburg. An investigation determined Barrett was driving with a suspended/revoked driver’s license and was intoxicated. Barrett was taken into custody and transported to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office where he provided an evidentiary breath test which determined his BAC to be .12%. Barrett was processed for multiple counts of DWI, felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, misdemeanor Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in the 3rd Degree, and issued multiple traffic tickets. He was released pending prosecution in Warrensburg Town Court at a later date.

A Queensbury man was arrested on March 12th on Driving While Intoxicated charges following a traffic stop on Veterans Rd in the Town of Queensbury. At around 9:47pm, a Warren County Sheriff’s Officer conducted a traffic stop on a 2007 Mitsubishi after it was observed committing unspecified traffic offenses. The operator, Ryan M. Brainard, 38, was found to be intoxicated and operating with a revoked driver’s license. Brainard was arrested and while at Sheriff’s Office headquarters, refused to submit to an evidentiary breath test. He was placed in Sheriff’s Office lock up and was arraigned the following morning on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor-Vehicle, and numerous traffic tickets.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On March 1 at around 7pm the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a call requesting an officer respond to the Chestertown substation to assist the caller with a 19-year-old female having a behavioral issue. Prior to the officer arriving, the female, later identified as Bela R. Simonson of Olmstedville, NY had run across the road to the Buckman’s Family Fuel Co., smashed a window with a shovel, caused extensive damage inside the building, got into a 2022 Ford Transit service van and crashed it through a garage door, then fled the scene. Simonson was located around 10pm on Knapp Hill Rd in Chestertown where she had crashed the van into a ditch. She was taken into custody without incident and brought to the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters where she was processed and placed in the police lockup to await arraignment. At Warren County CAP court she was arraigned on the Felony charges of 2nd Deg. Criminal Mischief, 3rd Deg. Burglary, and 3rd Deg. Grand Larceny. Simonson was remanded to the custody of the Warren County Correctional Facility due to lack of $2000 cash bail / $4000 secured bond / $6000 insured bond and is due to return to the Town of Chester court at a later date.

In the Fall of 2022, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit conducted a controlled buy operation where cocaine was bought from Michael J. Verlinger, 37, of State Route 9 in Chestertown. On March 2nd, Verlinger was arrested on an arrest warrant stemming from the aforementioned sale. He was charged with one count of 3rd Degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class B Felony and placed in police lockup to await arraignment. Verlinger was arraigned the following day in Warren County Court and released on his own recognizance to return on April 12th.

Queensbury Man Charged With DWI

On Monday, March 6, 2023, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that a vehicle had overturned off the side of Luzerne Road. Assisted by the West Glens Falls EMS and West Glens Falls Fire Department, it was reported that the driver fled the scene, and deputies managed to locate Logan C. Marshall – age 22, of Queensbury – near the crash site, where they determined that he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest. Marshall submitted to a breathalyzer, which showed that his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was almost three times the legal limit. 

Marshall was charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and aggravated DWI for operating a vehicle with a BAC of more than 0.18%. He was released to a third party.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Sunday, Feb. 26, at approximately 8:50pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dix Ave in the Town of Queensbury for a report of a male pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle. It was determined the male was walking east on the westbound shoulder of Dix Ave in the area of Phillips Ave when he was struck by a 2011 Ford Escape traveling westbound. The male was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by Bay Ridge EMS and ultimately sent to Albany Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The accident is being investigated by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, who were assisted on scene by the New York State Police and the South Queensbury Fire Department.

Glens Falls Shooting Incident – Suspected Home Invasion

At 4:14 AM on Thursday, March 2nd, a shooting took place at 29 Dix Avenue in Glens Falls. The two people that were shot were allegedly breaking into the home when the resident shot them. The suspected home invaders were taken to Albany Medical Center, and one of the suspects is in critical condition.

The Glens Falls Police and State Police interviewed the alleged shooter to determine what crimes had been committed. Local Defense Attorney Tucker Standclift is representing the person suspected of firing the gun. The identities of the persons involved have not been released. 

Glens Falls Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting

29 Dix Avenue

The Glens Falls Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place very early this morning.  The shooting took place at 29 Dix Avenue at 4:14 AM – two people were reportedly shot, and one is in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

Both victims were transported to Albany Medical Center. There is no threat to the public. The shooter and the two victims are all from Glens Falls. No charges have yet been filed.

WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Feb. 11 at around 1:03am, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox after it was observed committing unspecified traffic offenses on Upper Sherman Ave. in the Town of Queensbury. Following an investigation, the operator, Holly A. Bader, 37, of Fort Edward was found to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested. At police headquarters, Bader submitted to a chemical breath test which yielded a .20 of 1% BAC–more than twice the legal limit. Due to a previous Driving While Intoxicated conviction within the last 10 years, Bader was charged with Felony counts of Driving While Intoxicated and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. Bader was released to a third party and is scheduled to appear in Queensbury Town Court to answer the charges at a later date.

On Feb. 11 at approximately 6:27pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Sewall St. and Canada St. in the Village of Lake George for a report of a hit-and-run accident. During an investigation into the crash, a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle that left the scene was stopped on State Route 9 in Lake George for unspecified traffic offenses. The operator, Scot D. Ballard, 53, of Queensbury was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested. At police headquarters, Ballard submitted to a chemical breath test, which yielded a .24 of 1% BAC–three times the legal limit. Ballard was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, issued numerous traffic tickets, and released on his own recognizance to appear at a later date in Lake George Town Court.

Glens Falls Police Arrest Man Accused of Lewd Act

On Monday, February 13th, the Glens Falls Police Department responded to a report of a lewd act that had taken place at the Glens Falls YMCA. Officers immediately responded, and upon arrival, were advised that a male exposed his private parts while following a member of the YMCA around the facility.

The suspect had left the building prior to police arrival, but their investigation led them to the alleged suspect – Jonathan Heath, of Fort Edward. Heath was arrested and charged on three (3) counts of public lewdness, which is a Class B misdemeanor.
