WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Feb. 2 at approximately 03:49am, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single car motor vehicle accident with entrapment on State Route 9 in the Town of Warrensburg. Following an investigation, officers determined a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, operated by Ryan W. Lancto, 36, of Black River, NY, was traveling north on State Route 9 when his vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and struck a utility pole. Lancto was extricated from the vehicle by members of the Warrensburg Fire Department and ultimately airlifted to Albany Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation and is being handled by Patrol Officers Robert Rose and Daniel Herrmann. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Warrensburg Fire Department and Warrensburg EMS.

On Feb. 4 at 11:49pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office conducted a vehicle stop at the intersection of Shippey St. and Garfield St. in the City of Glens Falls after witnessing a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Peter M. Morales, 47, of Queensbury. Upon a police investigation it was found that Morales was in possession of a large quantity of cocaine and crack cocaine. Morales was taken into custody and charged with 5th Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class D Felony. Morales was held in police lock-up and arraigned on Feb. 5 at Warren County CAP Court. Following arraignment, Morales was remanded to Warren County Jail with no bail.

On Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023 at approximately 8:15pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office investigated an armed robbery at the Xtra-Mart Mobil located at 2398 State Route 9N, Lake George, NY. A male suspect entered the store, approached the clerk, displayed a handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes. After which, he fled the scene in a vehicle. WARREN COUNTY SHERIFF

On Thursday Dec. 29 at approximately 5:26pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 47 Caldwell Ave in the Town of Lake George for a report of a Burglary. Investigators determined that Matthew P. Charlson, 43, of Lake George entered the residence and assaulted the resident inside. Charlson was placed in custody and transported back to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office where he was processed for 1st Degree Burglary, a Class E Felony and arraigned in CAP Court. Charlson was then released under the supervision of the Probation Department.

On Saturday, Dec. 31, at approximately 11:25pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Library Ave in the Town of Warrensburg for a property damage motor vehicle crash. Officers discovered a 2019 Jeep had left the shoulder of the roadway and struck a utility pole support cable. Police determined the driver, William J. Parker, 48, of Warrensburg, was intoxicated. Parker submitted to a chemical breath test which yielded a blood alcohol concentration of .22%. Parker was processed for Aggravated DWI and released to appear in the Town of Warrensburg Court on a later date.

On Saturday Dec. 31, at 1:03pm, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an assault that occurred at the Travelodge on Route 9 in the Town of Lake George. Upon arrival, police determined that Nicholas S. Harris, 35, of Lake George had struck another subject multiple times with a metal chair causing minor injuries. In addition Harris had also choked the same subject during the altercation. The victim refused medical treatment. As a result of the investigation Harris was charged with Felony 2nd Degree Assault, and misdemeanors criminal possession of a weapon and criminal obstruction of breathing.
