Queensbury boys soccer pulls away from Glens Falls

GLENS FALLS — The Queensbury varsity boys soccer team pulled away in the second half, finishing a 4-0 win on the road against Glens Falls on Tuesday.

The game was scoreless at halftime, with neither team able to find many strong scoring opportunities. Queensbury began generating some scoring chances in the second half, and broke through when Luke Eichen finished a crossing pass from Gavin Kelly in the 59th minute.

Only two minutes later, Kelly found Max Roca, who tucked a shot home to give the Spartans a 2-0 lead. Kelly added a goal in the 69th minute, and Roca quickly followed it up with his second goal in the 72nd minute, giving Queensbury a 4-0 victory.

Roca scored twice and added an assist for the Spartans, while Kelly had a goal and two assists. Eichen scored a goal, while Jake Afsar-Keshmiri made eight saves in goal. For Glens Falls, Ayden Grieve stopped four shots and Cam Pratt stopped one in net.

Queensbury will play at South Glens Falls at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
